Beginning of World History
World history is a story: it had a beginning, and it will have an end.
Genesis – the first book of the Bible is the most reliable source for what we need to know about the beginning of the world history. Genesis means “beginning” or “origin”.
“In the beginning God created the heaven and earth,” – Genesis 1:1
Beginning of Man
Man’s special characteristics:
Man was not created directly by God but instead “evolved” from the animals. This theory is what we call evolution theory.
Man's Rebellion
After Adam and Eve committed sin, the first consequence of it began when Cain killed his brother Abel. God cursed him and was allowed to wander on earth. He founded a culture that is also against God.
A New Hope
Adam and Eve had another son.It was named Seth. Then another man that was favored by God who came from Seth's bloodline was used by God to build an ark. He was Noah.
God sent a flood for 40 days and 40 nights. The ark rested on Mount Ararat. From there, God gave men another chance to build a culture in submission to God.
Building of Nations
All human beings born after the flood are descendants of Noah’s three sons – Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
Nimrod – Ham’s bloodline became leader in the plain of Shinar also known as Sumer. He built a city that is against God's command. He said, "“Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad the
face of the earth.” However, God confused their language. It is written in Genesis 11:7-8, “Let us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech. So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city.”
